(a) The site is located 4500m west of the centre of Ravadinovo village, Sozopol municipality. It can be followed along the lowest sector in the gully of Propadnala Voda to continue along the east slope of the ridge of Medni Rid (fig. 113) then crossing it to continue along its west side. The site is in a de- forested and rocky area. The highest point of the mine is 250m above sea level; on the east slope 170m; and on the west slope up to 230m above sea level. (b) Archaeological surveys on the site conducted during many years resulted in a rich collection of stone tools and a large amount of fragments of wheel-made pottery. A couple of fragments

of querns were also found (one of them of Olyn- thus type) probably used to crush ore. Stone tools made of flat natural stone from a solid rock (fig. 114), were used as hammer stones for the

Mixed catalogue plate from Krauss et al. (2020) that simultaneously:

  1. Finishes the illustration set for 35. Metallurgical Site Karakachanski Kolibi (Figs. 110–112, completing the figure citations made on the previous page).
  2. Opens the entry and first illustrations for 36. Mine and Metallurgical Site Propadnala Voda (header + fields a–b started; Figs. 113–114).

Propadnala Voda is one of the five principal named copper deposits of the Rosen ore field (southeasternmost of the classic NW–SE chain on Tzankova 2023 Fig. 1). This plate is the catalogue’s primary visual introduction to that mine together with the immediately adjacent Karakachanski Kolibi smelting scatter.
